Auralex Synergy Hexagon Acoustical Absorption Panels

Standard acoustic panels come in rectangles. They work well but the installation pattern is rigid — rows of identical panels on flat walls. The Auralex Synergy Hexagon takes a different approach, using a hexagonal shape that allows panels to be arranged in honeycomb formations, scattered patterns, grouped clusters, or combined with negative space for a custom wall design. The acoustic performance is the same as any high-quality absorption panel — the difference is what the installation looks like when it's done.

Construction

The Synergy Hexagon uses Auralex's EcoTech and Studiofoam combination — the same pairing used in the Synergy GreenScreen. EcoTech provides an eco-friendly base layer made from 60% recycled content, non-toxic and fire-rated Class A per ASTM E-84. Studiofoam delivers the absorption performance Auralex is known for in professional studio applications.

Two thickness options address different acoustic needs. The 1.4" panels achieve an NRC of 1.00 — full absorption of sound energy contacting the panel — making them effective for mid and high frequency flutter echo and reflection control. The 2.4" panels achieve an NRC of 1.18, reaching deeper into the low-mid frequency range for more substantial acoustic control in rooms with pronounced buildup in those frequencies.

Each hexagon measures 10" x 8.7" with adhesive backing for direct wall mounting. The small format gives installation flexibility that larger panels can't — panels can follow curves, fill irregular spaces, or be arranged around obstacles like windows, outlets, and doors.

Available in two color options: Black and White — allowing the installation to either blend into a dark studio background or stand out as a design feature against a light wall.

Also available as two-pack add-ons for extending existing installations in 10" or 24" extension configurations.
