What PET Means for Your Room

PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is derived from recycled plastic bottles — the same material in water and soda containers. As an acoustic material it offers high durability, elasticity, and broadband sound absorption. It is inert, non-toxic, odorless, and non-allergenic. Safe to handle without protective equipment. No VOCs, no binders, no formaldehyde.

The panels can be tacked, screwed, or bolted directly to a wall or ceiling depending on the surface material. They can be cut to any shape or size on-site without affecting acoustic performance or structural integrity — a practical advantage in irregular rooms or custom installations.

Performance

EcoScapes PET panels achieve an NRC rating of 0.75 when mounted directly to the wall (A-Mount) and 0.85 when mounted on furring strips spaced 12" apart (D20-Mount). The D20 mounting method creates an air gap behind the panel that improves low-frequency absorption — a meaningful difference in smaller rooms where low-end buildup is a common problem.
