Unrivaled Preamplifier Stages for MM and MC Systems Phonos features two distinct preamplifier stages, each tailored to the specific requirements of MM and MC pickup systems. The MM stage uses Burr-Brown OPA 2134 SoundPlus™ operational amplifiers for ultra-low noise and minimal distortion, while the MC stage offers up to 71.5 dB of noise-free preamplification, thanks to SPL's 120V technology.

Customizable for Perfect Sound Reproduction For MM systems, Phonos provides three selectable capacitors (150 pF, 220 pF, and 330 pF) to correct frequency and phase response. MC systems benefit from six adjustable impedance settings (100 Ω to 10 kΩ) to match the pickup's characteristics, ensuring a linear frequency response.

Revolutionary RIAA Equalization Employing the RIAA equalization standard, Phonos uses a Douglas Self designed circuit with audiophile-grade Styroflex capacitors. This results in faster charging and discharging of capacitors, leading to better resolution and impulse response, and a more accurate reproduction of the original recording.

Sophisticated Design for Audiophiles Phonos is crafted with precision and care, featuring Through-hole technology on its circuit boards to ensure the use of only the best sounding components. The design also includes a switchable subsonic filter to eliminate turntable rumble and a gain control for perfect output leveling.

Connections and Power Supply Phonos boasts gold-plated RCA sockets for both input and output connections, along with a banana plug socket for grounding. The internal power supply operates at +/- 60 V, ensuring the highest audio quality and dynamic range.
