An untreated room adds echo, flutter, and room tone to every recording — the listener hears your room as much as they hear your voice. That ambient noise creates a subconscious barrier between host and listener that affects engagement and perceived professionalism. The Auralex Podcast Plus Starter Kit is a straightforward solution designed specifically for single-user podcast setups in small spaces.

What's in the Plus Kit

The Plus version includes two DeskMAX Home Office panels — one more than the standard kit — giving you greater flexibility to treat larger areas or cover multiple reflection points around your recording position.

The DeskMAX Home Office panel is a portable, freestanding acoustic absorption panel designed for desktop use. It sits between your microphone and the nearest reflective surface — typically a wall or window behind your monitor — and absorbs the reflections that make vocals sound boxy and hollow. Inspired by Auralex's studio-grade treatments, it uses the same Studiofoam material in a practical desktop format.

The 16 Studiofoam Wedgies are 1' square x 2" thick foam panels with an NRC rating of 0.95, meaning they absorb 95% of mid and high frequency sound energy that hits them. They mount directly to standard drywall or other rigid surfaces using the included EZ-Stick Pro Tabs. These treat wall reflection points, parallel surfaces, and flutter echo around the recording position.

Installation Note

EZ-Stick Pro Tabs are designed for permanent installation. They will damage drywall and painted surfaces when removed. If you need a non-permanent solution, plan panel placement carefully before mounting.
