Primacoustic FlexiBooth

Recording clean vocals in an untreated room is one of the most common challenges in home and project studio environments. Room reflections, ambient noise, and HVAC bleed all find their way into the microphone and make post-production more difficult. Acoustic booths solve the problem but require significant space and permanent construction. The Primacoustic FlexiBooth is a wall-mounted solution that creates a 16 cubic foot voice-over zone in seconds — and disappears back into the wall when not in use.

How It Works

From the outside the FlexiBooth looks like a standard wall cupboard with a clean black melamine finish. Open the doors and the interior panels fold out to surround the voice talent, creating a tight acoustic environment that eliminates room ambiance from the recording. Engineers can then add reverb or room character in post-production, working from a clean dry signal rather than fighting a room with its own character baked in.

The interior panels are constructed from ultra-high-performance 6lb per cubic foot glass wool — the same core material as Primacoustic's Broadway panels used in professional recording studios. The panels are encapsulated with micromesh and covered in acoustically transparent fabric for a clean, durable finish.

Variable Room Control

The FlexiBooth also functions as a variable acoustic device for the room itself. Opening the doors partially or fully changes the absorption surface area exposed to the room, allowing quick adjustment between a drier, more controlled environment and a brighter, more ambient one. This flexibility is useful for tracking sessions where different instruments and sources benefit from different room characters.

Practical Details

The FlexiBooth ships flat to reduce freight costs and assembles in minutes using common household tools. The black melamine finish is easy to clean and blends with most room decors without looking like studio equipment.
