Primacoustic Hercules Impact-Resistant Acoustic Panels

Most acoustic panels are built for controlled environments — recording studios, listening rooms, treated spaces where panels get handled carefully and nothing hits them. The Primacoustic Hercules was designed for the real world, where panels get bumped, scuffed, and occasionally hit by a basketball.

The Hercules uses the same high-density 6pcf/96kg/m³ glass wool core as Primacoustic's Broadway panels — the standard for professional studio acoustic treatment — but adds a 3mm (1/8") thick high-density rigid fiberglass facing. This facing protects the core from physical damage while still allowing sound to pass through and be absorbed across a wide frequency range. The panel absorbs sound the same way a Broadway panel does — the fiberglass facing doesn't compromise acoustic performance.

Why the Facing Matters

Standard fabric-wrapped glass wool panels dent, tear, and compress on contact. Once the facing is damaged the panel looks worn and the fabric can come loose. The Hercules facing is rigid enough to take repeated impacts and return to its original appearance. It is also firm enough to accept thumbtacks — a practical detail for offices and classrooms where panels double as bulletin boards.
