Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX5-UF

Studio monitors tell you the truth about your mix — but only if they're properly decoupled from the surface they're sitting on and aimed correctly at your ears. A monitor placed directly on a desk transfers low-frequency energy into that surface, which then resonates and adds false bass coloration to what you're hearing. And a monitor sitting flat on a desk often fires the tweeter below ear level, softening high-frequency detail at the listening position.

The Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX5-UF solves both problems simultaneously. The high-density polyurethane foam base decouples the monitor from the desk, eliminating resonant energy transfer and the phase anomalies that come with it. The heavy laser-cut steel plate adds mass to counteract the backward recoil generated by the woofer. A neoprene retention pad on top grips the monitor base and prevents sliding. The 10° upward angle tilts the monitor toward the listening position, directing the tweeter at ear level for more accurate high-frequency monitoring.

The RX5-UF is the compact version of the Recoil Stabilizer lineup — sized specifically for smaller near-field monitors in the 3" to 5" woofer range commonly found in home studios, project studios, and desktop setups. Sold individually — purchase two for a stereo pair.

Why Recoil Matters

Most foam-only isolators address resonance transfer but do nothing about recoil. When a woofer pushes energy forward, the cabinet pushes backward. This causes monitor drift over time and softens initial transient response. The steel counterweight in the Recoil Stabilizer keeps the monitor locked in position, resulting in tighter bass and sharper transients immediately noticeable on first listening.
