Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX7-HF

Studio monitors tell you the truth about your mix — but only if they're properly decoupled from the surface they're sitting on. A monitor placed directly on a desk or shelf transfers low-frequency energy into that surface, which then resonates and adds false bass coloration to what you're hearing. The result is mix decisions based on a distorted picture of your low end.

The Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX7-HF solves this with a four-component design built for flat horizontal orientation. The high-density polyurethane foam base decouples the monitor from the desk, eliminating resonant energy transfer and the phase anomalies that come with it. The heavy laser-cut steel plate adds mass to counteract the backward recoil generated by the woofer. A curved front panel eliminates standing waves and adds mass without increasing the platform footprint. A neoprene retention pad on top grips the monitor base and prevents sliding.

The RX7-HF is sized for mid-format near-field monitors in the 5" to 8" woofer range — a step down in size from the RX9 series, making it the right choice for the most common near-field monitors found in project studios and professional facilities.

Why Recoil Matters

Most foam-only isolators address resonance transfer but do nothing about recoil. When a woofer pushes energy forward, the cabinet pushes backward. This causes monitor drift over time and softens initial transient response. The steel counterweight in the Recoil Stabilizer keeps the monitor locked in position, resulting in tighter bass and sharper transients immediately noticeable on first listening.
